Petrified Tree Stump

the many treasures of this community
await your discovery !

The Long X Trading Post Visitor Center and Museum is the central location for information on the area’s cultural, geological, historical, geographic attractions and general tourist assistance. Also, within the walls of the Long X Trading Post is the largest petrified tree stump ever found in North Dakota(60 million years old, 25,000 pounds, six feet in diameter and 8 feet tall)! The Pioneer Museum packs a whole lot of history and depicts a large part of Watford City and McKenzie County.
